Cover Up

No it’s not that I’m disgusted
Let this myth be busted
On the contraire truth be told and dusted
I’m so drawn and I can’t be trusted
No, I’m not disgusted

No it’s not that I’m ashamed
I shudder that this can be claimed
Well, not the way you think, its not the same
The shame is not in your frame
But that once my eyes have been laid
It takes all within me and Divine intervention to remain
No, it’s not that I’m ashamed
Not in that way

No it’s not that you’re a dirty secret
And if you were who would be able to keep it
Your value so obvious who doesn’t want to steal it
Only those chosen should be able to peep it
And those who lose you should regret
Never to know the treasure at it’s deepest
No, you’re no dirty secret

It’s not that I can’t lie
There’s more to you than meets the eye
And if I said otherwise
I would have to deny
The price willingly paid by the Divine
When He said for her this is My bidding price
And He willingly put His life on the line
And died
And then rose to intercede with you on His mind
It’s not that I can’t lie
But at such value why would I

It’s not that you have nothing to flaunt
Just that when all heaven is with what you were bought
There is so much more of you to be sought
There is a jealousy over you which with naked eye can’t be caught
It’s not that you have nothing to flaunt

The worst lie was when you thought
And let me lay it to nought
Was that when asked that modesty be sought
That it was you they fought
And not demons (in us) who seek to steal what was already bought

Don’t believe the lie
You are more than meets the eye
So let it be known to the blind
And those who make to God a covenant with their eyes

Disgusted, ashamed, ugly, diguise!?
No it’s not that. Never was! Why?
Its blood bought beauty. Never see it otherwise

You Think

You think
You know yourself

You think Abraham knew
When in faith the promise he pursued
That the walk would lead to
A command strange and new
And in faith son and father followed through
Yes, I must sacrifice you
And submitting on the altar the son was strewn
And to Abraham’s mind his love he had slew
When God stopped Him mid-through
Your love is shown to be true
You gave though all was not in view
This testimony I give of you
He didn’t know faith would pierce death through

You think
You know yourself

You think the three boys, Hebrew
When they faced the fiery funace knew
That when they got in the furnace threw
They would live to see the story through
Or get them to walk with the Son of God anew
That faith is fireproof, they hadn’t a clue

You think
You know yourself

You think Judas knew
When to the mob he threw
That Jesus to the cross would follow through
Then the false trial ensued
Then it came to his mind anew
What was once a reward he threw
And they said that sound sonds like a problem for you
He loved Him but also loved money, who knew?

You think
You know yourself

You have no idea the ability in you
Depending on which course you pursue
But before a womb knew you
God had purpose, your name, He knew
But cares of this life pursue
And granted I don’t know you better than you
But don’t pretend you
Haven’t been shocked too

By what you do
When in circumstance you were lead to
For good or bad, false or true

You think
You know
But it shows
And the Bible makes it known
The motive heart of man? Only God knows

Yes you think
And at the time of your ignorance God winked
He never slumbers or sleeps and I don’t know when I blink
And so He wants to open that growing link
Because with this big of a whole our souls will sink
It’s time to make your pick

So who do you trust for your life with
The One who knows or the one who thinks
Faith or instinct

You think
You know yourself
At least now you know where to get help

We Don’t Need Another

We don’t need another Bible Study
Heard the teacher clear last time
We need put our hearts in custody
And in faith get our feet in line

We don’t need another sermon
The preacher’s not to blame
When we treat the word like vermin
And obedient conviction we tame

We don’t need another conference
Another catchy theme
We need true repentance
A life that reflects His precious beams

We don’t need another committee
To break down all the parts
But His true gifts in us to see
Contrite spirits and broken hearts

We don’t need the next best thing
In men we can not trust
We need the acts of the gospel everlasting
To lay human reliance in the dust

We don’t need another pointed finger
I don’t need to look far
I am that desperate, poor, blind sinner
Your name I don’t want to mar

We don’t need another
What other can an empty heart pursue
Despite all the tries I’d rather
LORD, I only want, I only need You

Fading Light

In the rays of daylight
I saw Your face
In all glorious might
No worry of fate

But then sunset came

The shadows made
The fear arise
Your word faithful stayed
But alas wand’ring eyes

Then the sunset came

And surely so did the night
With whispers of threat
To construct and suffocate life
And remind me of debt

The sunset came

And I remember where You stood
I was sure You hadn’t moved
But these voices had me confused
Should I stand because of how faithful You had proved

Before the suset came?

Can I count on what I saw in light
When the shades overtake
Can I stand on faith and not sight
When the darkness hides Your face

Fading light may determine my sight
But let it not determine Thy might
Yes, night will come my way
Let not the fading ray make me deaf to what You say
For after all the shadowy whispers
That made me freeze in fright
Let faith be the light that flickers
Brighter until the promised day comes out of night

Would It Change

If it was just you and God
Would it change the path you trod

Would it change the way
You spend your day
Would you take the time to pray
Of course you would I dare to say
Who else would you talk to on the way

Would it change the way
You put trouble away
Would you make His mighty arm your stay
Of course you would I dare to say
For all His fidelity
You would remember instantly

If it was just you and God
Would it change the path you trod

Would it change the way
You view the word obey
Would you see the word delightfully
Of course you would I dare to say
For “what will they say”
Won’t on the mind play
Neither would there be a majority
On which your eyes could stray
Only on the Word He says
And willing response follows lovingly

Would it change the way
Of the choice you made
Would the path you chose stay the same
It would all change is my daring claim
For there would be nothing else to blame
Nothing else to take center frame
Or to be the excuse lame
But certainly
And clearly
The truth will come to center stage
The question that is not seen obviously

Even today
The LORD does say
What’s it going to be
Is your life about you or Me?
I have shown you who I care about
As His nail-scarred hands are stretched out

Despite fear and doubt
I give you a way out
Not only esacape but freedom full and stout

If it was just you and God
Would it change the path you trod

It would change the way
Because one on one changes how you play
The game
For you would say
LORD, I willingly go your willed way
But why couldn’t that be today?

Abba Father

“Our Father who art in heaven…”
The famous first line of Jesus’ model prayer for teaching His disciples how to pray. It shows us that we can call God Our Father.
Most people would believe that the concept of God as a Father is a new testament concept. And while the concept is true, it is not based solely on the New Testament.

Let’s start in Isaiah 63:16 – Doubtless thou art our Father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: Thou, O LORD, art our Father, our Redeemer; Thy Name is from everlasting.

Isaiah 64:8 – But now, O LORD, Thou art Our Father; we are the clay, and Thou our potter; and we all are the work of Thy hand.

Let’s go back a few centuries from the time of Isaiah and to the Exodus, where we find God giving Moses HIs words to speak when he stands in front of Pharaoh.
Exodus 4:22,23 – And you must say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the LORD, “Israel is My son, even My firstborn.”
and I said to you, ‘Let My son go that he may serve Me,’ but since you have refused to let him go, I will surely kill your son, even your firstborn!”‘”

God calls the nation of Israel His son. (And we are children of Abraham by the promise. Not Jews outwardly but Jews inwardly through Christ and heirs according to the promise of God to Abraham (Galatians 3:22-29) ) And so even then they could call on Him as Father or at least look up to Him that way.

But let’s go even further back by going forward in the Bible
Luke 3:23-38 spells out the lineage of Jesus Christ. Our focus is on the last verse, however. Verse 38 says – (Cainan) Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

Adam was the son of God. Not like Jesus is the Son of God. Don’t get it twisted. But Adam was the son of God. Adam could commune with his Father directly.

Imagine what that must have been like on that first Sabbath, after God had created all the earth and everything in it. And He had his two children, Adam and Eve. How they marvelled at all that He showed them. The earth in its perfection, the garden untainted by sin. And they could look to Him as Our Father.

This is the state of affairs God would love to return to. And this is the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. To restore us to have the power to be called sons and daughters of God and He Our Father (by love uncomparable) without shame.

1John3 verse 1 – Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.

So would you choose this day to be His daughter, to be His son? Or will you sel the birthright that is freely given but bought at the cost of all of Heaven in the scarifice of Jesus Christ?

Call on Him today. Abba Father. Lead me gently home. Take me home, Father.

Seventh Day and 3 Angels

As you may have realised from some of the writing I have been used to write on here, I believe that obeying God is a natural and even an eager response to God’s response to us. Obedience to His commandments in specific. All ten of them. That includes the fourth commandment.

Of course others would say that the fourth commandment to remember the seventh day sabbath to keep it holy is done away with. Besides the Bible evidence to the contrary (which includes the life and example of Jesus Christ and the Apostles) I also believe that it does not make sense to forget what God says to remember. And then there is the fact that the world we live in now being so fast-paced would lead to the logical conclusion that we need rest. Also, I have seen people take chances and take leaps on things of much less certainty than the word of God.

But the focus for today is to get rid of the thought that the seventh day sabbath is an outdated institution by showing its ties to the last day message of Revelation 14:6-12. The Sabbath and three angels are undeniably tied together.

And so here I will quote the fourth commamndment as found in Exodus 20:8-11 and repeated in Deteronomy 5:12-15 combined. The parts unique to Deuteronomy are in square brackets […] :

Rmemember the sabbath day to keep it holy [Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee]. Six days shalt thou labour and do all thy work but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD the God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, thy maidservant, nor thy cattle [ox], nor thine ass, [nor of thy cattle] nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: [;that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.] For in six days, the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all thet in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD belessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Now we will go through the ties of this commandment to the messages of the three angels.

1. The Dominion of God
a) over man, heaven, earth, and the seas/fountains of waters.
Exodus’ reading of the fourth commandment is the source material for Revelation 14:7 when talking of the dominion of God as the Creator of heaven, the earth and the founatains of waters. We belong to God by creation
b) over man and creation by redemption
Deuternomy’s reading reveals the deliverance from Egypt by a mighty hand as the reason for keeping the sabbath. We Christians today have not been delivered from literal Egypt but from the slavery of sin by His mighty work at the cross (after which, He rested and we are to rest in remembrance too)

2. Babylon is fallen
Revelation 14:8 tells of how Babylon (and all its lies) is fallen just as Egypt fell by His mighty hand and His people were called out, leaving the enemies of God to be destroyed. In Revelation’s second angel we see the state of those who worship the beast and how they are destroyed in the end. Is it then any surprise that they have no rest day or night? They choose not to enter His rest.

3. State of the delivered
Remember that you were once a slave but now you have been brought out that you may obey the LORD in Spirit and in Truth, that you may serve Him in obedience freely. So that you may keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus without fearing the threats of Egypt/Babylon.
Here is the pateince of the saints says Revelation 14:12.

And so with these three ties i.e. Dominion, judgement and deliverance is His sabbath commamndment tied to His last day message. The sabbath continues to be a sign between the Creator God and His people.

But remember, the One who ties it all together is Christ. He is the Creator, He is the Faithful Judge, and He is the Redeemer.

God bless you and yours.
