Someone

The night sky could have easily been empty

The grass could have been an excited red to see

Carpetting the earth in a sight to make you angry

Or remind you of the violent and bloody

But Someone thought of you to please

And covered the earth in varied greens

To calm your nerves when you stand still to see

In the wind waved meadow or savannah field

Even when dry it turns gold, not black or ashy
The night sky could have easily been empty

The birds could have all sounded the same

Their songs not unique in anyway

All giving a monotonous drum beat play

Dom Dom Dom outside your window pane

Crow, sparrow, kite, eagle, vulture, the same

But Someone thought of the song that would play

When you wake up in the morning to a new day
The night sky could have easily been empty

The sunset sky could have stayed blue

The sunrise could just pop from black to blue

But see the transition in colour and hue

This transition is given to me ad to you

Someone paints the sky anew

With oranges, golds, violets, and maroons

Soft pinks, torquoise, and teal too

And other colours the male species can’t see through
The night sky could have esily been empty

But it is not and what does that mean

It means that there is Someone Who sees

All the details, nooks and crannies

Even the things you don’t think you need

He alone sees each tear

And records them and with accuracy

What they were for, what they mean

As long as the stars are in place in the darkest night

Someone is there, He will make things right
The night sky could have easily been empty

But it’s not

So look up tonight and give it thought

Does His care for you count for nought?

Or will you seek Him first as for you He has sought?
